“Kingston upon Thames is the principal settlement of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames in London. It was the ancient market town where Saxon kings were crowned and is now a lively suburb situated 10 miles (16.1 km) south west of Charing Cross. It is one of ten major metropolitan centres identified in the London Plan.”.

This is what you will find on Wikipedia.org’s explanation of Kingston. I came here on September 2006.Kingston is a fairly small city, I can’t highlight anything special about it, and basically it’s just a city like many other cities! If, unlike me, you enjoy clubbing, it has some good places. It’s near to the central London which is an advantage especially when you’re travelling. London Waterloo train station is only half an hour far away and you can go everywhere from there. It’s also just 35-40 minutes far away from Heathrow Airport by bus which only costs you about 1.5 pounds!. Like other small cities almost everything is concentrated on the centre, so you easily can access to shops, banks and important offices. Overall it's a nice city.

I lived in the university’s residence (Middle Mill) in the first academic year. I was in a flat with other 4 people, 2 girls (Northern Ireland, UK) and 2 boys (UK, Syria) and we had a good time together. I had a fairly big room and the University (Penrhyn Road Campus) was only 10 minutes far by walk and the knight’s park campus was just across the street!

During the summer I moved to Clayhill one of the other university’s halls in Surbiton. I had two flatmates (Iran, Moldova). The rooms were ensuite and unlike other halls this one even had a common room! Basically everything there was great except the price!

After leaving clayhill in agust 2007, I've been living in a flat in kingston hill area with other three students.I'll upload some pictures soon! ;)
